Popular Local Pop-Up has Found a Permanent Home Just East of Downtown

Popular Local Pop-Up, Gigi’s Deli, Now Open at El Tigre Coffee in St. Paul Square. The sandwich pop-up by Chef Matthew Garcia will now have a permanent home just east of downtown.

WHAT:

Gigi’s Deli, an Italian-inspired & classic deli shop, is now open inside El Tigre Coffee at the historic St. Paul Square. The pop-up by local Chef Matthew Garcia has now found a permanent home within the coffee shop, slangin’ freshly made breakfast and lunch sandwiches five times a week.

The playful menu includes breakfast sandwiches such as a Munchos, Egg & Cheese and a Pastrami, Egg & Cheese. Lunch options feature The Italian Disco with mortadella, prosciutto, salami, pepper relish and more, as well as the Uncle Ruben with pastrami, swiss, cole slaw and Russian dressing. Breakfast and lunch options are served all day; guests can expect the menu to rotate regularly and feature seasonal specials.

“Gigi’s Deli started as a lighthearted residency back in 2021 at Little Death, and from there I would do occasional pop-ups throughout San Antonio. It’s exciting to now have a permanent spot in the heart of our city, something we can call home while we continue to explore bold flavors and creative takes on the classic deli experience,” said Garcia.
