Ladino, the Michelin Bib Gourmand Mediterranean Grill House from Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, will celebrate its third anniversary with a block party on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 3-9 p.m. The family-friendly celebration will feature bites from Executive Chef Berty Richter alongside guest chefs from Pullman Market, Mezquite, Burgers by the Butcher, and Chef Nicola Blaque from The Jerk Shack. The anniversary celebration will also feature live music all evening, as well as a balloon artist and face painting for children.
In 2022, Chef Berty Richter and Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group opened Ladino with the mission of celebrating Mediterranean cuisine and the culinary traditions of Richter’s Sephardic heritage. Ladino showcases Middle Eastern and Balkan flavors through live-fire cooking on the charcoal mangal grill. The menu features fresh-made pita from a wood-burning oven, an abundance of dips and small plates, and entrees highlighting regional specialties cooked over charcoal.

Since opening in 2022, Ladino has been widely recognized as a top restaurant. Ladino was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2024 and named CultureMap San Antonio’s Restaurant of the Year in the 2025 Tastemaker Awards, in addition to features in Travel + Leisure, Wine Enthusiast, Eater Austin, San Antonio Express-News, San Antonio Magazine and more.
