Highly Anticipated Eatery in Historic New Braunfels Announces Opening Details
Highly Anticipated Restaurant, by Wiggins Hospitality Group, Will be Opening in Late 2025
Wiggins Hospitality Group in New Braunfels, the same team behind celebrated restaurants like McAdoo’s Seafood Company and La Cosecha Mexican Table have plans to open their newest concept dubbed Old City Hall Restaurant & Bar. in late 2025. The new restaurant is housed in a historic 96-year-old building in downtown New Braunfels.
Old Becomes New Again
Old City Hall, aptly named and beautifully reimagined, will offer timeless American classics inside a civic treasure. The menu celebrates those beloved dishes with a refined touch — steaks prepared on a wood-fired grill, house-made pastas and a double patty cheeseburger to name a few. The beverage offerings will include drinks like ice cold martinis, negronis, frozen gin & tonics and more. Old City Hall will seat approximately 200 guests with private dining options available. The restaurant will also feature patio seating for visitors to enjoy.
The Old City Hall building, which was constructed in 1929, has served a variety of purposes in its time, including New Braunfels City Hall, the home of the police department, a training site for World War II medics, a museum archive and more. The building was acquired by the Wiggins family in 2018. In 2022, Turner Wiggins – son of established restaurateurs Pat and Becky Wiggins – and his wife Caroline joined the team, working alongside Pat and Becky to bring Old City Hall to life.
“The Old City Hall project has been a labor of love for our team,” said Wiggins Hospitality Partner Turner Wiggins. “We are honored to be the newest stewards of this incredible building and we look forward to being able to share it with the New Braunfels community again soon.”
The project aims to honor the building’s historic character while introducing modern touches. In order to maximize the original space for public enjoyment, a 4,000 square-foot addition has been added to the building to house the bar, patio, private dining and kitchen. Old City Hall has been thoughtfully redesigned in collaboration with Dibello Architects, who have helped incorporate period-appropriate design into the remodel, ensuring respect for the past, with updated modern touches for this new chapter.
