Vibrant Houston Eatery Honors Nurses and Teachers This Week

Comfort Foodies, located at located at 8128 North Sam Houston Pkwy W, Ste B, invites all teachers to enjoy the discount from Tuesday, May 7 to Friday, May 10, 2024, in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week. In honor of National Nurses Week, nurses can take advantage of the weeklong discount from Tuesday, May 7 to Sunday, May 12, 2024.  All nurses and teachers with a valid professional ID are eligible to participate.

Although the official Appreciation Weeks commence today, May 6, Comfort Foodies will launch their celebration of these local heroes who do so much for the Houston community tomorrow, as the restaurant is closed on Mondays.

The weeklong event gives nurses and teachers an opportunity to enjoy Comfort Foodies’ exciting fusion of Latin-Caribbean and Southern Soul cuisine at a thoughtfully discounted price.

Since 2020, Comfort Foodies, under the creative culinary guidance of owners Elsa and Jeff Matthews, has become a cherished destination in Houston. Elsa, an Afro-Latina, hailing from the Dominican Republic and raised in NYC, and Jeff, a native Houstonian with culinary talents deeply rooted in Southern cuisine, bring together a perfect blend of flavors, family, and a genuine passion for sharing cultures, community, and cuisine. The result is an inviting, vibrant eatery that has enriched Houston’s diverse culinary landscape.

Guests at Comfort Foodies enjoy the warm hospitality as much as the rich flavors that define the restaurant’s unique culinary offerings.
