Head of San Antonio park police union says DA should have issued felony charge over duck's death
The head of the union representing San Antonio's park police accused the office of District Attorney Joe Gonzales of ignoring the advice of game wardens and experts by not to pursuing felony charges against a man accused of killing a River Walk duck last week. Henry Bassuk, the president of the Park Police Officers Association made the accusation during an appearance on KLRN-TV current affairs program On The Record, which aired on Thursday. Officers tried to file a third-degree felony charge of animal abuse June 17 in relation to the grisly incident.
