Owners of The Newstand Coffee & Sandwiches Announce All-New Brand Extension Slated to Open Late 2025

Page Pressley and Dez Rodriguez, owners of The Newstand Coffee & Sandwiches in Downtown San Antonio, are proud to announce a refined extension of their beloved brand with their latest concept, The Dispatch. Slated to open in late 2025 inside the lobby of McCombs Plaza (755 E. Mulberry Ave.), The Dispatch will blend modern sophistication with approachability, serving as both a stylish neighborhood café and a daily ritual stop for professionals, creatives, visitors, and students alike.

Inspired by the idea of a “dispatch,” or a message sent with purpose, the brand is centered around clarity, craftsmanship, and connection, carrying forth The Newstand’s editorial roots and community-driven spirit. The Dispatch is designed to be a quintessential go-to for an on-the-go espresso, light lunch, or a change of scenery when working on the go or between classes. Offering a thoughtful mix of quality coffee in both a variety of beans and specialty crafted “extra extra” special drinks, such as the Just Peachy ($9) made with fresh Texas peaches, high-quality grade matcha, and sweet cream cold foam – there’s no shortage of delicious intention. The Dispatch will also offer house-made pastries, fresh juices such as the Texas Sun ($8), made with orange, ginger, and pineapple; smoothies such as The Empire ($13) made with peach, banana, almond butter, greens, cocoa nibs, and protein; and salads like the Kale Fruit Salad ($12) made with seasonal fruit, spiced citrus, and Texas pecans, and more.

The design of the intimate space will offer quiet elegance, outfitted with green marble countertops, terra cotta-tiled surfaces, muted earth tones, and rich woods, which provide a polished yet welcoming boutique lobby café experience with a curated yet comfortable environment that elevates the everyday.
