Local Icehouse, River North Icehouse, Celebrates One Year in Downtown San Antonio

After a full year of drinks, DJ-fueled nights, and neighborhood gatherings, River North Icehouse (RINO) is throwing a blowout anniversary weekend to celebrate its first trip around the sun. From Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20, guests are invited to join in for three days of music, food, games, and drink specials, marking RINO’s milestone in true downtown San Antonio fashion.
When River North Icehouse, located at 317 W Jones Ave, opened in the summer of 2024, the goal was simple: create a laid back space filled with live music, DJs, special events, great drinks & even better hospitality that locals and visitors could enjoy. One year later, RINO has become the River North neighborhood hot spot known for its DJ & Live Music guests, game-day watch parties, free parking and signature drink specials like the crowd-favorite “Barrels of Fun” – coolers filled with the drinkery’s signature Broadway Lemonde cocktail to share.

The anniversary weekend kicks off with a special show at 8 PM, headlined by
Twin Diplomacy—the international DJ duo with over 1.5 million Spotify listeners—joined by
XK &
AC Brio. Stick around for the afterparty featuring
DaVincii. Free entry.
To celebrate, guests can enjoy 50% off “Barrels of Fun” cocktails all night long. TaCoqueto will serve up their signature tacos & street food favorites from 5:00 PM until late.

Saturday, July 19 – Backyard Games and Fight Night
On Saturday afternoon, RINO is teaming up with
PickleballGo to transform the inside of the bar into a pop-up pickleball court from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Guests will get to play mini sets up to 10 minutes. Sign up is free and available on a first come, first serve basis.
That evening, RINO will air UFC 318: Holloway vs. Poirier 3, with early prelims starting at 5:00 PM and the main card at 9:00 PM. After the fights, DJ Jazz will take over the decks for late-night music. Once again, TaCoqueto will be serving food from 12:00 PM until late. Free Entry.
Sunday, July 20 – Brunch, Beats, and Backyard Pizza
Sunday starts with breakfast tacos from TaCoqueto (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM) and drink specials including $5 Mimosas, $5 Bloody Marys, and $20 Champagne bottles.
In the afternoon,
1472 Pizza will pop up on the patio starting at 4:00 PM, offering their handcrafted, wood-fired pizzas. The weekend wraps with a special
Sundown Social from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, featuring DJs FRME2U and Sosavage spinning house music as the sun sets over downtown. Free Entry.
