Celebrate National Soul Food Month with ‘Taste of Soul’

Taste Kitchen + Bar, located at 420 Main Street in the heart of Downtown Houston, has earned acclaim for its all-day brunch and a diverse menu of signature Southern Soul cuisine, expertly curated by Chef Don Bowie.

Chef Bowie’s scratch made “Taste of Soul” features a delicious combination of Smothered Chicken (choice of white or dark meat), collard greens, candied yams, rice and gravy, and a choice of cornbread or biscuit waffle. In honor of National Soul Food Month, the restaurant will introduce different variations weekly for this beloved dish, including an option featuring Chef’s mouthwatering Oxtails!

Chef Bowie draws inspiration from his global travels, infusing ethnic flavors into elevated Southern classics, creating a unique culinary experience that has garnered a loyal following locally and beyond. The menu at Taste Kitchen + Bar is loved by regulars for its elevated breakfast, lunch, and dinner fare available seven days a week, featuring innovative specialty dishes with soul food flair like their famous Chicken & Waffles, Sweet Potato Whiskey Bisque with Cinnamon Brown Sugar Croutons, savory Seafood & Grits, and Catfish Sandwiches (fried or blackened).
